Most of the Anglo-American Confucian studies in the past have regarded “whether they meet the Western standards of value” as the basic basis for complimenting Confucianism. In the 1970s, American philosopher Finkler pioneered the introspection of this “Western-centrism” hidden behind the interpretation of Confucianism and has far-reaching repercussions. In addition to the works of Fingolite, it is also worth noting that Schwartz, Hao Dawei, Andrzej, and Graham and others who influenced and interacted with it were also concerned. On the one hand, these studies are on the one hand vigilant against the trap of “Western centralism” and on the other hand, they present many new ideas of Confucian research to the world through their own western perspectives.
