枳(Poncirus trifoliata Raf.)在四川、湖南、湖北等地是甜橙,温州蜜柑、红桔的优良砧木,嫁接后生长健壮,早结丰产。但在广东、广西、福建、江西、湖南等地作新会橙,柳橙、改良橙、冰糖橙砧木表现黄化。又在同一地区,含酸量低的甜橙以枳为砧表现黄化,含酸量较高的品种(如伏令夏橙)以枳为砧则不黄化。从苗期至幼龄期的1～5年是黄化盛发期。其后未黄化的健康树很少再发生黄化。对黄化的原因,有的认为是接穗和砧木接合处的黄环引起类似环割效应的结果。有的发现在导管里有黄褐色
