This article is based on a compilation of information compiled by Dr. Fuenal Dalber over the compilation of information for the panel of natural sciences, societies and economists held in Paris on April 9-12, 1979, by UNESCO. The article describes some of the academic activities of UNESCO in 1979 since the earthquake prediction socio-economic response and earthquake disaster prevention. For information on the activities of 1961-1968, refer to page 10 of the International Earthquake Dynamics No. 8, 1979.
