On the south of Yan Mountain at the time of the Xia and Shang Dynasties, there were two periods, Datuotou Culture and Weifang III culture. At Datuotou Period, there were two types, Huliuhe caver Type in the west highland and Datuotou Type in the east plain. By typology, the Li vessels can be divided intO 7 groups, which represent Lower Xiajiadian Culture of west Liaoning; local type of Lower Xiajiadian Culture; the Culture along the Great Wall; the Shang’ Dynasty s Culture; Culture in the west highland and Culture in the east plain. The development and change of these 7 groups of Li vessels shows the cultural pattern of the area at that time, as well influence from Lower Xiajiadian Culture in the north; Culture along the Great wall in the west and Shang CultUre in foe south. Shang Culture spread here by using Liulihe near Beijing as a post. The Zhou Dynasty followed the Shang and founded the Yan State at Liulihe.
