The Zirovski Vrh uranium deposit is located in the Gorenja Vas region of western Ljubljana in Slovenia. The area consists of Permian and Triassic sedimentary rocks. Uranium mineralization occurs in the Gre-deniens gray sandstone and is found in small quantities in conglomerates and breccias with low levels of metamorphism. The rock components are mainly quartz, quartz porphyry and metamorphic rock debris, followed by mica, feldspar and siliceous sericite cement, and finally carbonate, organic matter, insoluble heavy minerals, sulfide and uranium-bearing minerals. Ore body was plate-shaped or lentil-shaped output, deposited in the rhythm of inter-depositional layer, the thickness of about 20 meters. Uranium minerals are uranium pitches. Uranium ore grade of 0.01-5%, in some areas may exceptionally greater than 10%. There are many elements (Cu, Zn, Pb, As, Y, etc.) in the gray uranium-bearing sandstone and conglomerate series, most of which are derived from epigenetic sedimentation. Their distribution is strictly determined by the carbonate, organic matter, Distribution of sulfide and pitch uranium deposits. Uranium and other metals precipitate from groundwater and deposit within the redox interface, which acts as a geochemical shielding grid. The gradual metamorphism of the sandstone led to the change of the clay cement to chlorite and sericite, and the conversion of organic matter to anthracite with uranium separation and deposition.
