In the past decade, about 100 new museums have been on the ground in China each year. This figure is really surprising. With the government’s strong support, the entire country has plunged into a museum-building boom. According to the 10-year development plan, every 250,000 Chinese will own a museum by 2020, and there will be about 6,000 museums throughout the country. In recent years, the Chinese government has been encouraging and guiding more government and private capital to enter the cultural industry.
