1.Major challenges China currently faces to her political securitFor nations of different nature, political security has both common connotation and different characteristics. The deifnition of political security is closely related to the political environment a certain nation is in. Broadly speaking, political security refers to the security situation a nations political system is in, while, in a narrow sense, it refers to security in other areas relative to national security, such as economic security, military security and homeland security, mainly including four areas such as regime security, sovereignty security, security of basic national systems and ideological security. For China, political security means maintaining the regime of peoples democratic dictatorship and making sure that the ruling position of the CPC is not challenged; ensuring national sovereign independence and integrity; and safeguarding the stability of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the dominance of Marxism as the main stream ideology.
