平顶山矿务局年产原煤1600多万吨,在全国统配局中名列第三。多年来在洗选加工方面一直处于落后状态。59年大搞简易洗选厂时,曾建设30—Ⅰ,30—Ⅱ型洗选厂5座,后来因种种原因陆续报废。70年10月田庄洗煤厂投产,全局原煤入洗率不断上升,但也只有14～16％的原煤经洗选加工为冶金用精炼煤和洗选动力煤(洗中煤、煤泥),其余均以原煤直销给用户。平顶山矿务局根据煤炭工业“三变一发展”的方针,推广全国煤炭质量工作会议的“原煤筛选加工”的经验,在较短的时间里,全局有9个矿相继开展了筛选加工。85年8月生产出了筛大块和筛混煤,9月份又生产出了筛混中块。开创了原煤筛选加工的新局面。改变了煤炭品种单一的情况,实现对路供应。现在的煤炭产品结构是多种类、
