利用黄河泥沙发展新型建材，符合国家可持续发展战略，符合墙改工作的要求，节地节能、利废环保，并有利于黄河综合治理。随着国家经济建设的发展和墙改的深入，新材应用量越来越大，在黄河两岸利用黄河泥沙大力发展新型墙材，有望吃尽黄河下游上年落淤的全部泥沙，并进而逐步消耗历年积存的黄河泥沙，从而以积极有效的方式根治黄河。另外，黄河泥沙新材经济效益极大，可以纳入市场经济的轨道，具有很强的可操作性。
