方壮猷（1902～1970）是我国老一辈的历史学家，民族史和宋辽金元史专家，曾任武汉大学历史系主任、武汉大学、湖南大学教授。解放后，他服从工作的需要，从科研、教学岗位改行从事文化行政领导工作，1950年任中南军政委员会文化部文物处副处长。1951年至1955年兼任中南图书馆 Fang Zhuang (1902 ~ 1970) is an historian of the older generation in China. He is a national historian and an expert in Song, Liao, Jin and Yuan Dynasties. He used to be director of history department of Wuhan University, professor of Wuhan University and Hunan University. After liberation, he obeyed the need of the work, from the research and teaching positions in the leadership of the cultural administration, in 1950 he served as deputy director of the cultural department of the Central Military Commission.
