The authors tested the susceptibility of native Plasmodium falciparum to chloroquine in 15 villages in Assam, India, in vitro and in vivo. The in vivo assay was based on the 28-day extension method recommended by the WHO, and a total of 20 cases were examined. Except for 2 cases, 6 cases were grade Ⅰ, 5 cases were grade Ⅱ, 2 cases were grade Ⅲ, and 5 cases were sensitive example.
