1998年8月1日,中国人民解放军坦克博物馆正式对外开放。坦克博物馆坐落在北京西北郊,原名人民装甲兵陈列馆,1990年“八一”建军节正式建成,1997年更名为坦克博物馆。坦克博物馆广场的石座上,原来摆着一辆国产59坦克作为标志,现在则固定着一辆与苏式坦克明显不同的国产新型主战坦克(见本期封底)。这辆新型主战坦克旁是坦克博物馆中游人最多的地方,游人们都争着同它合影。
August 1, 1998, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Tank Museum officially opened. Tank Museum is located in the northwestern suburbs of Beijing, formerly known as the People’s Armed Forces Pavilion, 1990 “August 1 ” Army Day was officially established in 1997 changed its name to the Tank Museum. Tank Museum Square stone seat, the original display of a domestic 59 tanks as a symbol, now fixed a Soviet tank significantly different from the domestic new type of main battle tank (see the back cover). Next to this new main battle tank is the most visited tank museum, with tourists competing for a photo with it.
