清末,上海的渡船均为木质小船,主要是划子、舢舨。1910年,浦东塘工善后局率先开办了机动船渡江业务。初始航线为铜人码头(今南京东路外滩附近)至浦东东沟。1931年7月,该轮渡航线延伸至高桥,是为上海第一条长渡航线。1920年,龚计生启用同仁号小火轮拖带驳船载运乘客,开办了上海第一条对江渡。1927年,上海特别市成立,塘工善后局改称浦江轮渡管理处,增辟了杨复线
At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Shanghai ferries were all wooden boats, mainly zoned and 舢 舨. In 1910, Pudong Tonggong Rehabilitation Bureau pioneered the motor boat crossing the river business. The initial route for Tongren Pier (now Nanjing East Bund near) to Pudong Donggou. July 1931, the ferry route extends to Takahashi, Shanghai is the first long route. In 1920, Gong Jisheng commissioned Tong Renhao’s small steamship tow barge to carry passengers and opened the first Shanghai ferry to Jiangdu. In 1927, the establishment of Shanghai Special City, Tanggong Rehabilitation Bureau renamed the Pujiang Ferry Management Office, an additional Yang Fu line
