The authors explored the Ca-DTPA treatment of cases of accidental plutonium-sodium aerosol inhalation. Animal experimental data indicate that the plutonium-sodium mixed oxide aerosol migrates into the blood 100 times more rapidly than pure PuO 2 aerosol within the first few weeks after inhalation. Therefore, the authors designed two experiments: 1. Compare the effect of Ca-DTPA on the flow-induced plutonium citrate complex and the transferable plutonium-mixed oxide.
