Abnormal glucose regulation (IGR) is defined as the metabolic status of fasting or postprandial blood glucose levels higher than normal but below the diagnostic criteria for diabetes, impaired fasting glucose (IFG) and impaired glucose tolerance (IGT), and is considered to be early stage of diabetes stage. To further observe the incidence of diseases related to IGR stage and the natural outcome of blood glucose, it is of positive significance on how to take effective interventions during IGR stage to delay or reduce the incidence of type 2 diabetes. We investigated the impaired glucose regulation found in the screening of high-risk groups for diabetes 2012-2013 in Jiading District, Shanghai
