In this paper, advances in China’s offshore engineering research during the last decade are reviewed and evaluated. Studies on the following subjects are summarized: stress analysis of tubular joints and dynamic analysis of fixed-type platforms; studies on gravity platforms; studies on fluid dynamics and fluid-structure interactions; marine geotochnical studies; and studies on marine energy exploitation. Finally, outlooks of future research in China’s offshore engineering are discussed.
