“苟富贵,无相忘”,乃《史记·陈涉世家》中雇农陈涉语,同为雇农的他人以为笑谈。陈涉叹曰:“嗟乎,燕雀安知鸿鹄之志哉!”可见中国古代的老百姓向往富贵,并以“苟富贵,无相忘”为美德。文人们并非不希图富贵,孔夫子就认为富贵是人之所欲,但他遵从的原则是“不以其道得之,不处也”、“不义而富且贵,于我如浮云”。陈涉、孔子之语建构了中国仁人志士的富贵观。文人们一向轻商,很少有致富的可能,于是将富贵之想的破灭转化为清贫自守,转换为“宁可食无肉,不可居无竹”之类的自慰。只是到了本世纪后期,大众的致富梦才变为现实,“下海”的文
