“Trans-Pacific Poetics” is a product of the cross-cultural shift in the study of American poetics. Its scope of research can be defined as the East Asian cultural element in American poetry. Fellostosa and Pound’s interest in Chinese writing and classical literature can be seen as the beginning of the study of East Asian literary culture by American poets. With the deepening of the research, scholars promoted the further development of the practice and theory of “trans-Pacific poetics” with multiple methods, such as ethnography, translation, intertextual travel, reverse poetics, nihility poetics. “Trans Pacific poetics” has established its position in the research of American poetics from a brand new perspective. As a new poetic epistemology, it enriches the connotation of American literature as a whole.
