英国的国家课程包括核心课程和基础课程,地理是七门基础课程之一。英国历来是比较重视地理教育的国家,其地理教育有统一的教学大纲、统一的考试,但是教育当局并不指定统一的教科书。在《国家地理课程》的统一指导下,剑桥大学出版社、牛津大学出版社、赫德集团、尼尔森集团、斯坦利集团、墨累集团等都出版了地理教科书。英国的义务教育(5～16岁)分为4个关键的教育阶段(如表1所示),在关键阶段1～3地理属于基础必修课程,在关键阶段4为选修课程。从表中可以看出,英国地理课程开始较早,贯穿整个义务教育阶段。英国小学阶段的地理教科书中活动设计特点突出,充分体现了
The UK national curriculum includes core and basic courses, one of seven basic courses. The United Kingdom has always been more emphasis on geographic education in the country, its geography education has a unified syllabus, unified examination, but the education authorities do not specify a unified textbook. Under the unified guidance of the National Geographic Curriculum, Geography textbooks have been published by Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Hart Group, Nelson Group, Stanley Group and the Murray Group. Compulsory education in the UK (5-16 years old) is divided into four key education stages (as shown in Table 1). In the key stage, geography 1-3 is a basic compulsory course, and a key stage 4 is an elective course. As can be seen from the table, the British geography curriculum started earlier, throughout the entire compulsory education stage.
