The rat model of cerebral ischemia induced by occlusion of the four arteries was used to study the changes of the threshold and amplitude of 40 Hz AERP and the dynamic changes of hearing in rats with cerebral ischemia and reperfusion. In the early stage of cerebral ischemia, the response threshold of AERP continued to increase with the prolongation of ischemia, and the threshold of 15,60Omin and 2h was significantly higher than that of the control group (P <0.01). The amplitude of AERP was significantly decreased and acute hearing loss occurred. The response threshold kept at a high level at 2h after reperfusion, and there was no significant difference between the two groups (P> 1.05) at 24 and 48h after reperfusion. After 7 days of reperfusion, the threshold was basically recovered, but the amplitude returned to normal. The results suggest that 40 Hz AERP is very sensitive to ischemia, and cerebral ischemia and reperfusion may lead to sudden hearing loss.
