第一次听到她，是在电影《惊情四百年》片尾的那曲《Love Song For A Vampire》，并知道了她叫安妮·蓝妮克丝（Annie Lennox，1954— ），后来在网上看了1995年她在纽约中央公园的现场演出，当时脑海里飘过的是“这简直就是英国梅艳芳啊！幸亏没错过”。
蓝妮克丝生于苏格兰的阿伯丁，从小父母就着重培养她对音乐的兴趣，而她也展现出了过人的音乐天赋，17岁进入伦敦英国皇家音乐学院学习长笛与古典音乐。蓝妮克丝会到饭馆和酒吧兼职，与不同乐队合作演出，深受听众们的喜爱。但直到遇到才华横溢的Dave Stewart，加入The Tourists乐队，后与Dave两人组成舞韵合唱团（Eurythmics），她才真正做到了风靡整个八十年代，并影响了全球千万摇滚及流行音乐乐迷。1990年，两人决定分开各自发展。两年后，蓝妮克丝推出了首张个人专辑《Diva》，受到了广泛的好评，之后也佳作不断。至今她共赢得了八次全英音乐奖（BRIT Awards），四座格莱美奖，一座金球奖和一座奥斯卡奖，并因为音乐和慈善方面的成就在2011年上榜英国“新年荣誉名单”，被授予大英帝国勋章（OBE）。
