基于半导体放大器(SOA)的增益饱和效应,提出了一种简单的实现多功能超宽带(UWB)调制的方案。方案采用一个光源和单个SOA,可以实现脉冲波形调制(PSM)、脉冲幅度调制(PAM)和脉冲极性调制(BPM),因此实现容易、结构简单和成本低。利用OptiSystem软件对方案进行了仿真研究,分析了各参数对调制信号的影响以及信号的传输特性。结果表明,本方案对光源的波长和光源的光功率的变化不敏感,仿真输出的调制信号在单模光纤(SMF)中可传输35km。
Based on the gain saturation effect of a semiconductor amplifier (SOA), a simple scheme for implementing multi-function UWB modulation is proposed. The solution uses a single light source and a single SOA for pulse shape modulation (PSM), pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) and pulse polarity modulation (BPM), making it easy, simple and cost effective. OptiSystem software was used to simulate the scheme, the influence of each parameter on the modulated signal and the signal transmission characteristics were analyzed. The results show that the proposed scheme is insensitive to the wavelength of the light source and the optical power of the light source. The modulated signal output by the simulation can transmit 35 km in the single mode fiber (SMF).
