基质金属蛋白酶(MMP)是调控生长发育过程中一种重要的蛋白酶,具有生理功能,当神经系统出现损伤时起修复神经系统的作用。但某些情况下,体内的一些MMP同时急剧升高反而会导致机体病理损伤。因此,MMP有双重功能,一方面能介导神经修复和功能恢复,另一方面又造成机体损伤。文中介绍了MMP-2及MMP-9在正常神经系统中的生理功能,探讨了两者在脊髓损伤、中枢神经系统肿瘤中的作用及MMP抑制剂在临床应用中的可能性。
Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are important proteases in the regulation of growth and development, have physiological functions and repair the nervous system when the nervous system is damaged. However, in some cases, some MMPs in the body may rise sharply at the same time, which may lead to pathological damage of the body. Therefore, MMP has a dual function, on the one hand can mediate nerve repair and functional recovery, on the other hand, it also caused the body damage. This article describes the physiological functions of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in the normal nervous system, explores their roles in spinal cord injury and central nervous system tumors and the possibility of MMP inhibitors in clinical application.
