一般人都知道功課落後的学生多半都是俄文與數學不及格。這現象實在需要教師与從事國民教育的工作者去研求更有效的教学方法。為什么有這么多算术不能及格的呢? 讓我們來看一下學校的实際情况。女教师尼娜阿列克謝夫·那布鲁耶克在布魯日七年制學校中工作,我曾听過她七年級的代數課。学生們正在作‘代數的小數乘除’这一章的求證工作。一個学生在教師帮助下在黑板上算題,其餘的学生幾乎完全在照着黑板抄。各别比较好一点的肯努力的学生少看幾次黑板。其他的是不看黑板就自己一字也不写;本来有些地方自己也能作出的他们也不肯自己作。有的甚至根本连题都不懂,而不得不勉强机械式的抄写。
Most people know that most of the students who lag behind in homework are failing in Russian and mathematics. This phenomenon really requires teachers and workers engaged in national education to study more effective teaching methods. Why do so many arithmetic fail to pass? Students are working on the verification of the chapter “Multiplication, Division of Algebraic Numbers”. A student works on the blackboard with the help of a teacher. The rest of the students copy the blackboard almost completely. Each of the better students willing to work hard read the blackboard a little more. Others do not write one word without seeing the blackboard; they would have done something in their own place and they would not do it themselves. Some even do not understand even the topic, and forced mechanical copying.
