The principle of harmonic linearization is one of the important mathematical tools used to study some of the problems associated with periodic motions in nonlinear control systems. Thanks to its concise physics concept and easy-to-process math methods, it is gaining popularity among control engineers. This article is an introductory essay that will introduce the historical development of this method, its current use, and possible future developments.
