Objective To understand the application of sedative, hypnotic and anti-anxiety drugs in Beijing. Methods According to the recommended daily limit of dosage recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), the sedation and hypnotics in 36 hospitals in Beijing from 2005 to 2007 were evaluated and analyzed for their anti-anxiety drug use. Results The dosage of benzodiazepines (DDDs) accounted for more than 70% in 3 years, which indicates that the frequency of drug use is too large, suggesting a certain abuse tendency. Conclusion Benzodiazepines (BDZ) drugs are the leading drugs in the treatment of sleep disorders, while non-benzodiazepines (NBDZ) are gradually accepted by the clinic. However, BDZ drugs should be used with caution.
