The “root” art authored by Alex Harry reproduces a period of Afro-American history. Interpreting this history with the postmodern theory of space will reveal the dialectical relationship between space and social reality. Through the delineation of social space, the standardization of the practice of black slaves, the social reality of slavery enslaved blacks in all spheres of spirit, body and material, through the regulation of black bodies that exist in a space and space. Space becomes a social space, and society becomes a space-produced society, but the black slaves in the “Third Space” have never stopped fighting. Therefore, this history of blood and tears is the history of the strategic and political production of space. It can be summed up as the history of the space limitation, the body discipline, the standardized history of space practice and the space resistance.
