During this time, Captain Jack of Pirates of the Caribbean set sail again and hit the world’s major screens. Captain Jack out of the movie again and again, however, the real life of the sea may not be so fun. In the early 17th century, the colonial upsurge was set off in Europe. Many countries sent many navigators to explore the world for colonial expansion. British James Cook (1 728-1 779) is one of them. He had expeditioned the Pacific three times and explored the coastline of the Pacific coast. He is also the first captain to detect and treat scythemia (he is preventing scurvy on long voyages by improving the crew’s diet - including the addition of fruits and vegetables). Although Cook’s exploration was part of the colonial expansion in Europe, he did make a huge contribution to navigation and mapping.
