森林防火线是予防森林火灾主要措施之一。长期以来维护和开设防火线,都是采用人工割草,火烧和用拖拉机翻耕生土带等方法进行的。1974年吉林省组成由科研、教学、生产单位参加的应用化学除草剂开设森林防火线试验研究,1979年吉林省林业厅对化学除草开设森林防火线的试验成果进行全面鉴定。1981年—1982年省护林防火指挥部在珲春县中苏边境防火线进行了示范试验证明,化学除草开设森林防火线,可以代替人工割草,火烧和机械翻耕 Forest fire prevention is one of the major measures to prevent forest fires. In 1974, Jilin Province formed a pilot study on the firebreak prevention of forest using chemical herbicides which participated in by scientific research, teaching and production units. In 1979, Jilin Provincial Forestry Department carried out a comprehensive appraisal of the test results of chemical weeding and establishment of forest fireproof lines. 1981-1982 Provincial Forest Fire Prevention Command conducted demonstration tests on the fire border of Sino-Soviet border in Hunchun County to prove that chemical weeding provided a forest fire protection line that could replace artificial mowing, burning and mechanical tilling
