根据《水平仪试行检定规程(38—58)》,水平仪的零位检定方法是:先在平板上调整好底面的零位(调转180°,使同侧水泡读数差不超过分度值的1/2),然后用专用工具检定其余各工作面的零位,在检定上述所有的情况时,所得的两个读数差不应超过分度值的1/2。从上述方法可以知道,水平仪的零位检定有两个目的,其一是检定水泡对底面调整的可能性,即零位调节机构是否可靠和有足够的调节范围;其二是检定水泡对各工作面的位置,即水泡与各工作面之间的平行性和垂直性。
