In patients with coronary artery disease, cold compression tests increase coronary resistance and decrease coronary blood flow, possibly through reflex coronary artery spasms. This article reports the use of a cold compression test (sympathetic reflex excitation) to stimulate coronary artery spasm as a useful non-pharmacological approach for the diagnosis of coronary artery spasm. Methods: Thirty-five patients with chest pain syndrome, 34 males and 1 females, with an average age of 50.1 years (30-62 years), of whom 6 had variant angina (group 1). 14 cases of typical angina (group 2). Fifteen patients had atypical chest pain without definite ischemic electrocardiogram (group 3). Patients with selective coronary angiography before further cold compression test.
