The literature on the determination of bismuth by the multi-complex spectrophotometry has been reported [1 ~ 4]. This method presents a new method for the spectrophotometric determination of bismuth with Bi () - phenol red - methyl violet ternary complex system. Bi () in the presence of polyvinyl alcohol with phenol red (PR), methyl violet (MV) to form a stable ternary complex. This method is to study the ternary color reaction of Bi () - phenol red - methyl violet under the protection of polyvinyl alcohol.
