今年元旦前夕,我們來到北京東郊,看望了首都醫科大學教授、朝陽醫院婦產科主任林榮東。 為了救人而立志學醫 林老祖籍福建晉江,祖父輩即移居台灣,父親是個普通職員,薪俸微薄,而家中人口眾多,他自幼過着清苦的生活。在他十四歲那年,因不滿當時日本佔領者在台灣的奴化教育,毅然回到故鄉尋根訪祖。在大哥的幫助下,他進入陳嘉庚先生創辦的集美中學讀書。由於他的勤學苦讀,初中畢業考試名列第一,遂而獲得高中階段的獎學金待遇。高中畢業後,他考入上海滬江大學,因生物課成績優異,獲得了中山文化基金第一屆第一名生物獎。生物系主任勸他去美國學習生物專業。但自幼在困境中成長的林榮東,深知窮人缺醫少藥的艱難和痛苦,他謝絕了老師的好意,還是堅定的選擇了學醫的道路。‘在醫學上為什麼獨獨選擇了婦產科這門學科呢?’我們好奇的提出了這個問題。林老說:‘我當初立志學醫就是為了“救人”,而婦產科又是與廣大婦女、嬰兒的命運緊密相連 New Year’s Eve this year, we came to the eastern suburbs of Beijing, visited the Capital Medical University, Chaoyang Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecology Director Lin Rongdong.
