一、概述随着 LSI、VLSI 及计算机技术的飞跃发展,计算机系统的设计师将面临一系列棘手问题,其中有如下四个共性问题最为突出。1.产品更新换代的周期日益缩短过去十年间,VLSI 技术的迅速发展使得微处理机新产品平均更换周期为2~3年,表1为 Intel 公司微处理机产品的换代史。如何设计新一代的计算机系统而不随 VLSI 技术的进步而见绌,这个问题的本身就是一种技术挑战。
First, an overview With the rapid development of LSI, VLSI and computer technology, computer system designers will face a series of difficult issues, including the following four common problems most prominent. 1. How to design a new generation of computer systems without dwarfing the progress of VLSI technology is a technical challenge in itself.
