本文依据新构造运动特征与地层接触关系、古地理环境与岩石地层特征、哺乳动物化石种属与产出层位、古地磁与14C测试成果,用多重地层划分概念对第四纪各统进行划分。厘定第四纪下限为2 48Ma·B·P;中更新世下限为0 73Ma·B·P;晚更新世下限为0 20Ma·B·P;早全新世下限为12 0Ka·B·P;中全新世下限为7 0Ka·B·P;晚全新世下限为2 5Ka·B·P。
Based on the relations between new tectonic movement and strata contact, palaeogeographic environment and lithostratigraphy, mammalian fossil species and output beds, paleomagnetic and 14C test results, the Quaternary systems are divided according to the concept of multiple stratigraphic division . The lower limit of Quaternary was determined to be 2 48 Ma · B · P; the lower limit of Middle Pleistocene was 0 73Ma · B · P; the lower limit of Late Pleistocene was 0 20Ma · B · P; the Lower Holocene was 12 0Ka · B · P; The lower limit of Holocene is 70 ka BP, the lower limit of late Holocene is 25 ka BP.
