本文阐述了以太网从１０Ｍｂｐｓ到１００Ｍｂｐｓ再迈向Ｇｂｐｓ的发展演变，从技术上分析了其原理、协议、拓扑结构、特点和应用，并在与ＡＴＭ比较的基础上展望其未来。
This paper describes the evolution of Ethernet from 10Mbps to 100Mbps and then to Gbps. It analyzes its principle, protocol, topology, features and applications technically and looks forward to its future based on the comparison with ATM.
