The most environmentally friendly high-speed rail - Japan’s “Shinkansen” Japan’s Shinkansen started operation as of October 1, 1964. It is the world’s first passenger-carrying high-speed rail system. Many countries in the world are implementing large-scale high-speed railway construction. Japan’s Shinkansen technology is mature, stable and safe. Shinkansen vehicles due to light, less carbon dioxide emissions during operation, can be said to be more environmentally friendly. From a technical point of view, Shinkansen uses a decentralized mode of operation rather than locomotive traction. This eliminates the need for heavy locomotives and thus significantly reduces the axle load of the car body. It is not only easy to accelerate and decelerate, but also to ensure smooth running on steep lines, reduce noise and vibration, and improve travel comfort.
