Competitive parties are more motivated to develop than non-competitive parties, an important proposition put forward by Huntington. The Huntington proposition reveals the truth that the establishment of a competitive system has forced Western parties to focus on how to gain the support of the community and make adaptive changes. However, the history of the evolution of the real parties shows that these competitive parties are experiencing a profound crisis of reform and presenting the tendency of political parties to decline. This raises questions about the universality of Huntington’s proposition. Huntington’s lack of proposition lies in that Huntington exaggerated the role of competitive institutions, ignored the analysis of the nature of political parties, and did not examine the contradictory movement of social production relations as the root cause, attempting to depart from the specific social history in the sense of a universal law Conditions prove that all competitive parties are more motivated to develop than non-competitive parties. This is undoubtedly biased.
