加拿大渥太华市,年仅14岁的少年麦克在地铁站孤独地拉着小提琴。他自幼喜欢音乐,一只手却意外受伤,他根本无法进入正规化的音乐学校深造。他喜欢地铁站,因此他每天去那儿排遣心中的郁闷。麦克的曲风十分复杂,时而柔和,时而狂欢,他自己常常沉浸在如泣如诉的音乐声中不能自拔,有时候,想到自己可怜的身世与怀才不遇,禁不住热泪盈眶。一个乞丐接近了他,他原来远离麦克的地盘,可能被声音所吸引,于是走进来聆听麦克的演奏。
