Neoliberal reform did indeed play a role in the U.S. economy’s coming out of recession, keeping the economy in the mid-1990s under the unprecedented long-term growth of low unemployment and low inflation. However, the neoliberal regime brought about the extremely unstable and unbalanced development of the U.S. economy in the 1990s. Those who are at the top of the income pyramid have benefited greatly from the seriousness of these problems compared with the typical capitalist economic development Times can be said to have gone beyond.
