Objective To study the effect of amblyopia on binocular vision and VEP binocular vision in children. In order to make a general understanding of the interaction between the eyes of amblyopia children and binocular vision dysfunction. Methods The VEPs of VEP in 54 normal children and 41 children with amblyopia without strabismus were studied. Results The total eyes of the amblyopic children group was lower than that of the normal group. Especially binocular vision of children with amblyopia was significantly lower than the normal control group, and the waveform is abnormal, can show inhibition of both eyes. And found that there was no agreement between the degree of amblyopia and the binocular total VEP response. Conclusions Without the presence of strabismus, the binocular total VEP response of children with amblyopia can reflect the fact that amblyopia still plays an important role in the binocular vision impairment. Simultaneously, it is proved that the sum of binocular vision of visual evoked potentials can reflect the status of visual function, and has certain value for the evaluation of binocular visual function
