以“共性呈现”为前提,强调“共性下的个性发展”是中国书画探究理路的基本特征。明代项穆的《书法雅言·品格》对书家的优劣品评道得分明,对于强调重新认识与弘扬中国本土文化传统的今天尤具启示和意义:一日正宗,二日大家,三日名家,四日正源,五日傍流。后四等暂不议,且看项穆对一等“正宗”的界定:“会古通今,不激不厉,规矩谙练,骨态清和,众体兼能,巍然端雅,奕矣奇解。此谓大成已集,妙入时中,继往开来,永垂模轨,一之正宗也。”
