The mechanical properties of structural steels commonly used in the machine building industry are usually a function of the organization when carbon content is constant. The addition of alloying elements is mainly to increase the hardenability and tempering resistance of steel; one of the reasons that alloy structural steel is widely used is that it has much higher hardenability than carbon steel. In practice, people are most concerned about the strength index, the top of the standard quenching test is unable to obtain the steel core strength data. To solve the hardenability of steel and the relationship between the organization, performance, Fang Zhizhong proposed a new top quenching method.
