我国煤炭产地与消费地分布不均衡导致了西煤东运、北煤南运的煤炭运输格局。近年来,随着铁路及港口的飞速建设,西煤东运能力得到较大提高,但北煤南运仍将依靠北方港口中转。2012年,我国北方主要港口煤炭发运量为6.3亿吨,其中,秦皇岛港发运2.4亿吨,占北方主要港口总量的38%左右。从长期来看,在其他可替代运输方式成规模之前,港口仍将作为北煤南运的主力军。
The unbalanced distribution of coal production and consumption in China has led to the coal transportation pattern of the west coal transportation and the north coal transportation. In recent years, with the rapid construction of railways and ports, the capacity of western coal transportation in the east has been greatly enhanced. However, it will still rely on the northern ports for transit. In 2012, coal shipments to major ports in northern China amounted to 630 million tons, of which 240 million tons were shipped by Qinhuangdao Port, accounting for about 38% of the total northern major ports. In the long run, the port will remain as the mainstay of the North-South coal transport until other alternative modes of transport become available.
