根据3年盆栽试驻和湖北主要产麻区3种类型土壤12个田间试验结果提出苎麻为需硼量较少、耐硼性较差的作物。其硼诊断的土壤有效硼临界指标为:<0.10ppm为严重缺,0.10-0.30ppm为轻度缺,0.40-0.75ppm为适宜,2.50ppm为轻度中毒,5.00ppm为严重中毒,相应的植株硼诊断指标为:旺长期中位叶全硼含量分别为7-8ppm,2046ppm,48-102ppm,229-321ppm,>750ppm。确诊了严重缺硼和硼中毒的形态特征。在有效硼低于0.40ppm的土壤上增施硼肥平均亩增原麻9.8-19.0千克,增产率5.9%12.7%、低氮或高氮配合施硼,硼肥增产效果相近;而硼肥与低钾配施增产效果明显高于与高钾配施。施硼还在一定程度上改善原麻化学成分和纤维品质。
