金陵竹刻是中国竹刻艺坛两大流派之一,有关文献记载最早见于清代嘉庆年间嘉定人金元钰著《竹人录》:“雕琢有两派,一始于金陵濮仲谦,一始于吾邑朱松邻。”之后此说便较多地散见于清代和今人的相关著述中。关于濮仲谦竹刻,明末清初张岱《陶庵梦忆》、清初宋荔裳《竹罂草堂歌》、刘銮《五石瓠(hu)》和《太平府志》等都有记述和极高评价,今故宫博物院藏有其作品。
