设计丹下健三都市·建筑研究所科威特国际械场候机楼,1967年就开始着手设计。由于中东动荡的形势,工程延误到1975年才开始施工,1981年建成启用。候机楼是个三叉形,很像一架飞机,从空中俯视尤其明显。设计者的意图,是想在广阔无垠的沙漠上,造成一种里程碑的感觉,一看就知道到达目的地。间时,建筑物的一翼向前推进,两翼仿佛是张开的翅膀,整个造型富有动感,同飞机高速度的飞行相适应。候机楼设计的年乘客流量,是190万人次。设计中,在建筑物两翼的部位,留出了一些空隙,能由此连接新扩建的卫星登机楼,使航站楼进一步满足发展的需要。候机楼的布局,采取分层布置的手法:首层是到港层,二层是离港层,夹层上是旅客餐厅,使出入
The design of the Tangan Sankyo Institute of Architecture and Architecture in Kuwait International Airport Terminal began in 1967. Due to the turbulent situation in the Middle East, the project was delayed until 1975 and construction began in 1981. The terminal is a trident, much like an airplane, and it is particularly evident from the air. The designer’s intention was to create a sense of milestones in the vast expanse of the desert. At a glance, they knew that they had reached their destination. In the meantime, the wings of the building move forward, and the two wings are like wings. The whole shape is full of movement and adapts to the aircraft’s high-speed flight. The annual passenger flow for the terminal design is 1.9 million passengers. In the design, some gaps were left in the two wings of the building, which could connect the newly expanded satellite boarding towers, thus further satisfying the development needs of the terminal building. The layout of the terminal building adopts a layered arrangement: the first floor is the arrival floor, the second floor is the departure floor, and the mezzanine is the passenger restaurant.
