Over the past 10 years, CD40 / CD40L signaling system, as a participant in inflammation, has attracted widespread medical attention and plays an important role especially in the formation and progression of atherosclerosis and the unstable pathological process of plaque. The occurrence of acute coronary syndrome is mainly caused by atherosclerotic plaque rupture or erosion and secondary platelet activation, thrombosis. Elevated soluble CD40L predicts an increased incidence of cardiovascular adverse events.
