洛南县古城林场,位于秦岭东段,山势比较低矮,海拔高度一般在1200米以下,相对高度500～700米,山体、沟谷相间,坡度多在30°以上,土壤以褐色土为主,植被属暖温带针阔叶混交林带。依据陕西省林业区划,属于秦岭东段“中山地水源涵养经济林亚区”。该场自1958年以来,陆续营造的大面积油松林,已郁闭成林。近几年来,曾对1960年前营造的林分,先后进行过首次间伐,目前,正着手进行第二次间伐。由于有关油松人工林的抚育间伐强度、经营管理等问题,还缺乏理论依据,也无实践经验可资借鉴,因而对间伐过的林分,有人认为采伐强度过
