红大内玉,系番杏科大内玉属的变种。株高3～4厘米,圆柱状,中裂明显,个别植株在养护中出现带化,新叶露出旧叶时为绿中泛水红色,并有金属般光泽。尔后在充足光照下逐渐转红,老叶脱落后,株体深红发紫,晶莹剔透,酷似红玉,故名红太内玉。炎夏休眠势弱。花期11月,白色,花径5厘米。在生石花爱好者中倍受喜爱。许多人感觉极其难养,但我发现,只要顺应它的生长规律,红大内玉也不难养。
